Liverpool <\/a>could be about to receive a clearer indication of their hopes of signing Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi. The Reds have been credited with an interest in signing the England international this summer as Arne Slot<\/a> and Co. prepare for their Premier League<\/a> title defence.<\/p>\n Sporting director Richard Hughes<\/a> has already been hard at work to bring in four new signings this summer, with the potential for more to come.<\/p>\n Milos Kerkez’s arrival was confirmed on Thursday, as the left-back joins Jeremie Frimpong<\/a>, Florian Wirtz<\/a> and Armin Pecsi in completing permanent moves to Anfield<\/a>.<\/p>\n In terms of players heading in the other direction, Jarell Quansah<\/a> is thought to be close to completing a \u00a335million move to Bayer Leverkusen. The former Chelsea defender has, as a result, been heavily linked with Newcastle United in the past and could be a target for Liverpool in the near future.<\/p>\n What may affect Guehi’s future at Palace is the upcoming announcement that is expected by UEFA. BBC<\/a> Sport has reported that the governing body is expected to announce its decision on Friday on whether or not Palace will be able to compete in the Europa League<\/a> next season.<\/p>\n Palace qualified for the competition thanks to their victory over Manchester City in last season’s FA Cup final. However, a UEFA hearing will take place this week to determine if Palace have broken any rules relating to multi-club ownership.<\/p>\n John Textor had a 43% stake at Palace until a deal was agreed with Woody Johnson, owner of NFL franchise the New York Jets, earlier this week. Textor also has an ownership stake in Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, who will also be in next season’s Europa League.<\/p>\n Textor’s ownership stake in both Palace and Lyon has led to a UEFA hearing taking place to determine if the Eagles will be able to participate in next season’s Europa League. UEFA rules state that clubs which have the same owner cannot compete in the same European competition.<\/p>\n If Palace are deemed to have breached UEFA rules and are no longer able to participate in the Europa League, it could affect their stance on Guehi’s future.
