{"id":187681,"date":"2025-08-30T17:53:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-30T17:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/187681\/"},"modified":"2025-08-30T17:53:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T17:53:09","slug":"senior-airman-flown-home-by-charity-for-military-family-reunion-in-jacksonville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/187681\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior airman flown home by charity for military family reunion in Jacksonville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 A U.S. Air Force Senior Airman was flown home by a charity Saturday morning for a special military family reunion after being away for over two years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Carson LaGrange was greeted by his mom, dad, and grandma with balloons and banners at Jacksonville International Airport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cAnything he does, he does it very well,\u201d his mother, Christie LaGrange, said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">He was away from his family for over two years serving his country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cI\u2019m excited to be back, excited to see my family,\u201d Carson LaGrange said. \u201cIt\u2019s been a little bit since I\u2019ve been in Florida, so good to be back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carson LaGrange hugging his grandmother after being away from his family for two years. (Copyright 2025 by WJXT News4JAX &#8211; All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">He was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the world\u2019s largest military base by population. Carson LaGrange also served overseas during his time away from home, but in the states, he got involved outside of his normal duties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cA lot of volunteer work there with my church,\u201d he said. \u201cWorked there as a deacon as well as different volunteer opportunities on base.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Miles for Military is an organization that provides a free round-trip flight anywhere in the U.S. It requires at least 25 hours of volunteer work, and military applicants have a chance to get airfare completely covered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Carson LaGrange completed over 80 hours and he was the organization\u2019s 100th flight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cCarson\u2019s such a great story, and I\u2019m so glad Carson is our 100th flier,\u201d Jacob Cool, the chief operating officer of the organization, said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">But duty calls as he\u2019s preparing for a cross-country move to Wichita Falls, Texas.
