{"id":187790,"date":"2025-08-30T19:12:29","date_gmt":"2025-08-30T19:12:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/187790\/"},"modified":"2025-08-30T19:12:29","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T19:12:29","slug":"samsung-galaxy-s26-edge-wont-be-getting-a-significant-battery-upgrade-after-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/187790\/","title":{"rendered":"Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge won&#8217;t be getting a significant battery upgrade after all"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Even though the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_galaxy_s25_edge-13506.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Galaxy S25 Edge<\/a> was released just a few months ago, the Galaxy S26 Edge rumor mill started spinning as the latest evidence suggests the successor will launch alongside the rest of the S26 phones, possibly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_might_kill_the_galaxy_s26_in_favor_of_the_s26_edge-news-67755.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">replacing the Plus model<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"517\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1756581149_36_gsmarena_000.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge won't be getting a significant battery upgrade after all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The latest Chinese 3C regulatory body listed the Galaxy S26 Edge&#8217;s battery details, refuting the previous rumors about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/ice_universe_reveals_galaxy_s26_edge_thickness_changes_mind_on_battery_capacity-news-68925.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a potential battery upgrade<\/a>. According to the 3C listing, Samsung will stick to the lithium-ion battery tech and won&#8217;t make the transition to the silicon-carbon batteries for yet another year.<\/p>\n<p>Most competitors are already making the shift to silicon-carbon batteries as they provide higher energy density, allowing for either bigger batteries in the same form factor or reducing the phone&#8217;s size altogether.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Samsung will offer a modest capacity bump, from 3,900 mAh this year to 4,200 mAh.
