The Chicago Sky couldn’t snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday night, falling to the Seattle Storm 79-69 at Climate Pledge Arena. <\/p>\n
Angel Reese still put together a strong performance despite the loss, finishing with a team-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Reese also recorded a double-double by pulling down 10 rebounds to go along with two assists, two steals and one block. <\/p>\n
While Chicago never led at any point in Saturday’s matchup, it only trailed by three points early in the second quarter. The Sky were ultimately never able to pull any closer, as the Storm pushed their lead to double digits before halftime. <\/p>\n
A pair of free throws from Reese to open the fourth quarter brought Chicago to within five points, but Seattle immediately responded with a 7-0 run to gain some separation once again. <\/p>\n
The Sky were plagued by shooting inefficiency throughout the contest, connecting on just one of their 10 three-point attempts. They also shot 14-of-25 on free throws. <\/p>\n
Chicago struggled to take care of the ball as well, committing 22 turnovers compared to 19 assists.<\/p>\n
Reese and Michaela Onyenwere were the only members of the Sky to score at least 10 points. Onyenwere recorded 11 points and shot 5-of-10 from the field in 25 minutes on the floor. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Storm boasted a balanced offensive effort. Six players finished with a double-digit scoring total, led by Nneka Ogwumike’s 20 points. <\/p>\n
