A new Frank Drebin<\/a>\u00a0is back on the case.<\/p>\n

Liam Neeson steps into the goofy shoes of the legendary Leslie Nielsen, playing Frank Drebin Jr., the Los Angeles cop son of Nielsen\u2019s original goofball in “The Naked Gun,” a film described by Paramount Pictures as “a wild and outrageous comedy.”<\/p>\n

“Only one man has the particular set of skills\u2026 to lead Police Squad and save the world,” the film’s synopsis says. “Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. follows in his father\u2019s footsteps in ‘The Naked Gun’.”<\/p>\n

USA TODAY’s Brian Truitt gave the film \u2605\u2605\u00bd out of four<\/a>, writing “the cast all commit to the bit with 435% silliness, the old deadpan humor is still there and when the right jokes hit, they\u2019ll leave you in literal tears, even if\u00a0overall this update doesn\u2019t arrest you as much as it tries hard to make you laugh for 85 minutes straight.”<\/p>\n

“If you laughed at ‘Nice beaver’ back in the day, ‘The Naked Gun’ will feel like coming home again to a brand of comedy that refuses to grow up,” he added.<\/p>\n

When will ‘The Naked Gun’ come out on digital?<\/p>\n

“The Naked Gun” will be available to buy and rent on digital platforms, including\u00a0Amazon Prime Video<\/a>,\u00a0Apple TV<\/a>\u00a0and Fandango at Home, starting Sept. 2, Paramount Pictures said in a news release.<\/p>\n

“Fans who purchase ‘The Naked Gun’ on digital can go undercover with a full hour of hysterical bonus content, including deleted and extended scenes, uproarious outtakes, interviews with cast and crew, mock ads, and more,” Paramount said, noting availability of bonus content depends on digital retailer.<\/p>\n
