RODE is rolling out a major firmware update for the RODECaster Video<\/a> this week that turns the iPhone into a powerful wireless camera source.<\/p>\n

The update adds NDI support and is available now at no additional cost.<\/p>\n

NDI (Network Device Interface) is an industry standard for high-quality, low-latency video over IP.<\/p>\n

With the new update, the RODECaster Video can receive up to four NDI inputs and output one stream over Ethernet, making it easy to connect cameras and devices across the same network without dedicated cabling.<\/p>\n

The bigger news for Apple users is support for the RODE Capture<\/a> app on iOS. <\/p>\n

Once updated, an iPhone can serve as a wireless video input for the RODECaster Video, complete with Dual Cam mode. <\/p>\n

This allows the front and rear cameras to stream simultaneously, either as two independent feeds or combined into one.<\/p>\n

That means a single iPhone can capture both sides of an interview or commentary setup without additional hardware.<\/p>\n

This configuration works especially well with the awesome RODE Wireless Micro<\/a> or RODE Wireless GO 3<\/a> used as iPhone audio inputs. <\/p>\n

iPhone video input works wirelessly over the same wireless network on wired when using an Ethernet adapter.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

RODE says the firmware also adds PTZ camera control, advanced keying tools, auto switching tied to audio from the RODECaster Pro II and Duo, and a range of workflow improvements.<\/p>\n
