\u201cThose days we\u2019re expecting temperatures anywhere from 110 to 115 degrees,\u201d NWS meteorologist Chris Kuhlman told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
An extreme heat watch means<\/a> the NWS believes dangerous heat is possible, while extreme heat warnings are issued when dangerous heat is happening or imminent.<\/p>\n The warmup continues through the rest of the week and into the weekend as temps reach back towards near and above normal levels. A few spots will get close to 110\u00b0F as early as tomorrow, with 110\u00b0F-115\u00b0F forecasted for most of the lower deserts by next Monday. #azwx<\/a> #cawx<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/cWTlfm9pzT<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 NWS Phoenix (@NWSPhoenix) June 26, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n \u201cThe watches are an advanced product that we put out \u2026 ahead of time,\u201d Kuhlman explained.<\/p>\n The current watch will likely be converted to a warning soon enough.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s probably going to be like at least a 90% chance that it\u2019ll be upgraded,\u201d Kuhlman said.<\/p>\n Phoenix trails close during periods of extreme heat<\/p>\n Due to dangerous conditions, the following Phoenix hiking trails are restricted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on extreme heat warning days:<\/p>\n The South Mountain trails were added to the city\u2019s restricted list<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n The hottest day of the year so far was June 19, when it reached 117 degrees<\/a> in the midst of the last extreme heat warning.<\/p>\n Is there any monsoon rain in the Phoenix weather forecast?<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Valley has yet to see any rain since the monsoon season officially started on June 15.
