No injuries were reported, he said.

Two of the train cars held materials that were leaking carbon dioxide, he said. As a safety precaution, the derailment was listed as a hazmat incident and a shelter-in-place order was issued. There was never a big threat to the public, Trojacek said.

Firefighters were still out at the site monitoring as the products were offloaded and moved to a different train, he said.

Breaking News

Get the latest breaking news from North Texas and beyond.

By signing up, you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Vickery Boulevard was closed for a brief time as firefighters determined the severity of the derailment, but there was no big interruption to traffic and the area has started to reopen, Trojacek said.

The Fort Worth Fire Department responded to a derailment of a Union Pacific train leaking chemicals Sunday morning,…

[5138
5229,7712,7371,7372,50,7375,358,16476,522,3187,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-190118","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-fort-worth","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-dallas-fortworth","10":"tag-fort-worth","11":"tag-fortworth","12":"tag-news","13":"tag-tarrant-county","14":"tag-texas","15":"tag-traffic-accidents","16":"tag-transportation","17":"tag-tx","18":"tag-united-states","19":"tag-united-states-of-america","20":"tag-unitedstates","21":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","22":"tag-us","23":"tag-usa
["GET
