CHICAGO (WLS) — A hit-and-run driver struck and critically injured a pedestrian on the city’s West Side early Sunday morning, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n

Police said the crash happened in the University Village neighborhood’s 1300-block of South Halsted Street around 12:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

The driver of a Chevy struck a 21-year-old man and an unoccupied, parked vehicle before fleeing the scene, police said.<\/p>\n

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n

There is no one in custody, and CPD’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating.<\/p>\n

Police did not immediately provide further information about the crash.<\/p>\n
