{"id":190572,"date":"2025-09-01T02:30:28","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T02:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/190572\/"},"modified":"2025-09-01T02:30:28","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T02:30:28","slug":"like-a-war-zone-secaucus-police-vehicles-surrounded-during-riotous-street-takeover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/190572\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Like a war zone.&#8217; Secaucus police vehicles surrounded during &#8216;riotous&#8217; street takeover"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A street takeover in Secaucus turned riotous and violent toward police overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said the conditions his staff responded to were like \u201ca war zone.\u201d It happened near the Motor Vehicle Commission, and not far from a neighborhood and a large business park.<\/p>\n<p>More than 12 hours later, the road was streaked with tire tracks from burnouts and donuts from what police say was more than 100 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Police say participants were hanging out of windows and eventually jumped on top of police cars. No officers were injured. Several departments were called for mutual aid.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Miller says police are directing extra resources to investigate. There were no arrests on scene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir decision-making of not to exit their vehicles to engage a crowd that outnumbered them probably in the vicinity of 50-to-1 is good decision-making on their part,\u201d said Chief Miller. \u201cThis lawlessness will not be tolerated in Secaucus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The chief added that these kinds of incidents are not unfamiliar in the area, but the size and violence of this one was unusual.<\/p>\n<p>News 12 reached out to the social media account that posted the video that police shared, but has not heard back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A street takeover in Secaucus turned riotous and violent toward police overnight.
