Riley Green is reflecting on her career. While performing at the Big Machine 20 Concert in Nashville, Tennessee, Green shouted out his fans for making him a success.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you all very much,\u201d he said. \u201cA few years ago, I was doing construction work for a living. I signed with Big Machine Records. Now I got songs on the radio.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThank you all so much for supporting country music,\u201d Green added. \u201cThis right here is my first number one on country radio, a song I wrote called \u2018There Was This Girl.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Green released \u201cThere Was This Girl\u201d as his debut single in 2018. It went No.1 on Billboard\u2018s Canada Country chart. In the U.S., the song came in at No. 3 on the Country Airplay chart, No. 11 on the Hot Country Songs chart, and No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n

An ACM and CMA award winner, Green hit No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart with his 2024 Ella Langley collab, \u201cYou Look Like You Love Me,\u201d and his 2025 song \u201cWorst Way.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a recent interview with MusicRow<\/a>, Green reflected on his recent success<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a really great last year and a half,\u201d\u00a0he said. \u201cObviously now that people are really listening, I need a lot of great songs. You just can\u2019t write enough.\u201d<\/p>\n Green said views touring the same way, noting that he\u2019s working to evolve his live show as his popularity grows. <\/p>\n \u201cYou can\u2019t get comfortable. You\u2019ve got to bring the energy every night,\u201d he said. \u201c\u2026 It\u2019s about taking a show that\u2019s worked for me for years and making it even better.\u201d<\/p>\n Whatever comes next, Green said he\u2019s \u201calready been way more successful in music than I ever thought I would be.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cPlaying the Grand Ole Opry, doing a benefit concert for Jacksonville State, playing Red Rocks on a sold-out tour\u2014those things are incredible,\u201d he said. \u201cAs far as my real goals and aspirations, I\u2019m so surprised by how far I\u2019ve been able to come in this business that I\u2019m pretty content. I just want to get as much out of it as I can.
