FRISCO \u2014 The Cowboys continue to get good news on the injury front. <\/p>\n

Starting cornerback Trevon Diggs said he did everything in the first padded practice of the regular season on Sunday. Diggs, a surprise addition to the 53-man roster last week<\/a>, is nearly fully recovered from knee surgery.<\/p>\n

Whether Diggs plays in the regular-season opener<\/a> on Thursday night against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles is uncertain. <\/p>\n

However, he has a target date for a return.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo later than Week 4,\u201d Diggs said.<\/p>\n

That Week 4 game is against the Green Bay Packers, which now employs one of Diggs\u2019 closest friends<\/a> in pass rusher Micah Parsons, who was traded for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys received a scare in the early stages of Sunday\u2019s practice when defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey left during the early portions<\/a> with what a person with knowledge of the injury told The Dallas Morning News was back tightness.<\/p>\n

Winfrey walked gingerly off the practice field during the individual period, causing a brief stir before team drills started.<\/p>\n

Outside of Winfrey\u2019s health issue, every Cowboys player on the 53-man roster<\/a> attended the open media period of practice.<\/p>\n

Briefly:<\/b> Clark practiced on Sunday for the first time since being traded to Dallas<\/a>. He also changed his jersey number. He\u2019s now No. 95. Rookie cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. also changed his jersey to No. 34.<\/p>\n
