\n\tAs an actor who\u2019s seen both sides of the aisle \u2014 the MCU<\/a> and DCU<\/a> \u2014 Frank Grillo<\/a> is comparing how the two powerhouse superhero studios, Marvel<\/a> and DC Studios<\/a>, approach their sprawling multiverses.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview with People<\/a>, the Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Peacemaker<\/a> cast member noted that the two companies have \u201cdifferent\u201d approaches to their filmmaking and ideating.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s different. It\u2019s not organized in the same way. [DC] is really like all the scripts are in front of you and you kind of have a real secure handle on what\u2019s happening,\u201d Grillo said.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Tulsa King actor added, \u201cAnd there\u2019s nothing wrong with it, but [Marvel] was a little fly by the seat of your pants.\u201d While Grillo noted the studio has \u201cdone very well,\u201d he personally found it a \u201clittle scary\u201d to be going into a scene dark \u2014 something fellow Marvel alums have shared, with stars like Alan Cumming<\/a> and Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a> noting the confusion that can set in when acting alongside green screens and amid script rewrites, as well as character or plot elements that are kept under-wraps even from the stars themselves. (For his part, Superman helmer James Gunn said in an interview earlier this year that the movie industry is \u201cdying\u201d<\/a> because \u201cpeople are making movies without a finished screenplay.\u201d)<\/p>\n

\n\tIn December, Grillo expressed similar sentiments<\/a>, telling Entertainment Weekly<\/a>: \u201cThey\u2019re very different. Marvel\u2019s a different machine, and it\u2019s great in its own right, but the thing I love about James\u2019s and Peter [Safran\u2019s] DC is that it\u2019s much more contained. It\u2019s so much more personal, and I really enjoy it better. I just love being part of something in the embryonic stage and being able to grow with it and watch it and flourish.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGrillo portrayed Brock Rumlow (aka Crossbones) across the MCU in projects like The Winter Soldier, Civil War and Endgame.
