JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 Monday kicks off with some blustery weather in the Jacksonville area. <\/p>\n

Jacksonville folks are encouraged to keep an eye on anything left outside. Trash cans, lawn chairs, and other loose items could easily become neighborhood travelers if left unsecured. <\/p>\n

The gusty weather means extra caution for anyone walking the dog\u2014especially around branches or power lines. <\/p>\n

If you have time, it\u2019s a good idea to get that walk done earlier in the day before things pick up even more.<\/p>\n

The windy trend looks likely to continue as the week moves along, so make sure to check in with News4JAX\u2019s weather app for the latest.<\/p>\n

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorm chances<\/b><\/p>\n

After a rainy weekend, Jacksonville is looking at another stretch of hit-or-miss showers. <\/p>\n

It was a mixed bag. Some people saw very little, but some people saw a lot. <\/p>\n

This pattern is expected to repeat: weather models show pop-up showers and thunderstorms are likely in spots, especially closer to St. Augustine, Green Cove Springs, Palatka, and the coastline.<\/p>\n

Rain totals look modest for most around the city, with about a quarter inch expected in Orange Park and Green Cove Springs. <\/p>\n

The coast could see a bit more\u2014up to an inch and a quarter in Palm Coast, while Jacksonville and Georgia areas are forecast to see much less. <\/p>\n

The bottom line? Keep an umbrella handy just in case, and remember these storms may come and go quickly and can be strong when they do.<\/p>\n

Gradual return to the 90s later in the week<\/b><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get too comfortable with the lower temperatures\u2014warmer days are on the way. <\/p>\n

Jacksonville started Monday morning in the upper 70s, with the coast already sitting in the low 80s. <\/p>\n

The Exact Track 4D and The Weather Authority forecast call for mid-80s through midweek, but things tick up toward the 90s by Thursday.<\/p>\n

By the weekend, it\u2019s expected to feel downright hot again, potentially reaching 93 degrees on Saturday. <\/p>\n

Rain chances drop off toward the end of the week, so it\u2019s looking drier and sunnier after our current stretch of pop-up storms.<\/p>\n
