Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is all set to join Aston Villa on loan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The England international has been on Manchester United\u2019s<\/a> books for four years, since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund for \u00a373 million in 2021. <\/p>\n

Sancho was viewed as a statement signing at the time, but things have not worked out for the attacker at Old Trafford. <\/p>\n

After two spells away on loan, Sancho is on his way for another one, this time to Unai Emery\u2019s Aston Villa<\/a> until the end of this season. <\/p>\n

Jadon Sancho is the reason why Manchester United are not signing Emiliano Martinez<\/p>\n

Manchester United have been interested in signing Emiliano Martinez<\/a> from Aston Villa all summer. <\/p>\n

The Red Devils are in desperate need of a new goalkeeper, with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir making multiple mistakes between the sticks. <\/p>\n

Martinez was left out of the Aston Villa squad after United made an approach<\/a> to sign him on Sunday, and the Argentine remained a big target on deadline day. <\/p>\n

Fabrizio Romano<\/a> has revealed that United\u2019s plan was to secure a straight swap deal that would see Martinez moving to Old Trafford and Sancho to Villa Park.<\/p>\n

However, that idea became impossible because Sancho made it clear that he would only accept a loan move and not a permanent one. <\/p>\n

Romano said on GiveMeSport\u2019s Market Madness show: \u201cWith United, the deal was on until this morning. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea of Manchester United, from what I\u2019m hearing, was to do a permanent swap deal with Jadon Sancho<\/a> and Emi Martinez, not to involve any money basically in the deal, with the valuation around \u00a325 million for both players. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut, at the moment, from what I\u2019m hearing, this is going to be impossible because Sancho is going only on loan and Sancho is not accepting a permanent move.\u201d<\/p>\n

Martinez would\u2019ve been an incredible signing for Manchester United.<\/p>\n

The Aston Villa star, hailed as \u2018unbelievable\u2019 by Nigel Spink on BBC Radio 5 Live<\/a>, has delivered for club and country on big stages, and he would\u2019ve been a huge upgrade.<\/p>\n

However, after Sancho refused a permanent move to Villa, United had to change their plan, and Senne Lammens is the goalkeeper Ruben Amorim\u2019s side have turned to<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Royal Antwerp have agreed a deal with the Red Devils for the transfer of their star goalkeeper, who is now set to undergo a medical ahead of a move.<\/p>\n

Lammens is a very talented goalkeeper, and he could turn out to be the saviour Manchester United need in goal.<\/p>\n

However, it has to be said that Martinez would\u2019ve been the more established option, and only time will tell if United will end up regretting missing out on him.<\/p>\n
