England international Conor Gallagher is to stay at Atletico Madrid<\/a> despite enquiries from multiple clubs, including Manchester United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Around eight Premier League<\/a> teams asked about Gallagher’s availability but Atletico were only willing to consider a permanent sale for the player they signed from Chelsea<\/a> just last summer.<\/p>\n

United and others were keen on a loan as the 25-year old has been on the bench for the past two games.<\/p>\n

However, he is understood to be on a substantial wage in the Spanish capital and that with a transfer fee was considered too much to negotiate at this stage.<\/p>\n

Everton<\/a> and Crystal Palace<\/a> had also asked about Gallagher earlier in the summer.<\/p>\n

United were considering options, with Kobbie Mainoo<\/a> keen to leave on loan.<\/p>\n

Napoli expressed interest in\u00a0Mainoo, but he is expected to stay at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

Mainoo missed United’s first two games of the season, before playing the full 90 minutes in the shock Carabao Cup exit away at Grimsby.<\/p>\n

He then came on as a half-time substitute in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Burnley.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Gallagher has come off the bench in Atletico’s last two matches, having being hooked after 45 minutes in their opening-day defeat at Espanyol.<\/p>\n
