JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 There was some ruff competition in this year\u2019s Jacksonville\u2019s Cutest Pet competition, but one pup managed to claw her way to the top of the podium.<\/p>\n

Daisy Belle, a 10-year-old rescue dog, was named 2025\u2019s cutest pet Sunday night with more than 9100 votes. According to her biography, she is a big explorer who especially enjoys rides in the car.<\/p>\n

It looks like cuteness runs in the family \u2014 Daisy Belle\u2019s own big brother, 14-year-old Pacer, was last year\u2019s winner before passing over the rainbow bridge this June. He was adopted from the shelter years ago before beginning his long career as shop dog at Gotham City Limit.<\/p>\n

The competition is put on every year by the Jacksonville Humane Society, raising money for the nonprofit\u2019s mission of helping dogs and cats across our area find loving homes.<\/p>\n

Each donation corresponds to a certain number of votes. In this case, the shop and supporters of Daisy Belle\u2019s campaign donated $9,175.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to your generosity, we were able to raise an astonishing $47,982 to further our mission of helping pets and the people who love them,\u201d wrote the humane society Sunday night. \u201cGenerosity truly does breed joy!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love being able to let our dogs have their \u201cday in the sun,\u201d however, we hope the real winner of this contest is the Jacksonville Humane Society,” said owner Ben Kingsbury in a statement to Action News Jax. \u201cWe would have never had Pacer, The Amazing Shop Dog, if it wasn\u2019t for what they do and the countless behind-the-scenes hours that they put in to make sure the less fortunate animals have someone watching out for them!\u201d<\/p>\n

The 11 also-very-cute runners-up will be featured as the JHS Spokespet for one month each for the next year.<\/p>\n
