JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 With only a few hours left to buy tickets for one of the largest Powerball jackpots in American history<\/a>, News4JAX asked Jacksonville residents what they would do if they won the big prize on Monday night.<\/p>\n

No one has matched all six numbers since May 31, allowing the jackpot to swell to $1.1 billion, which would be the fifth-largest prize in the game\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

On Monday morning, News4JAX visited a spot that\u2019s considered one of the luckiest in Florida: the Shell gas station on Avenue B and Edgewood in Northwest Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope it be lucky for me today,\u201d LaNard Williams said.<\/p>\n

So what would Jacksonville residents do if they won the $1.1 billion?<\/p>\n

\u201cI would help the homeless out, I would build something for the homeless people,\u201d Sherria Horace said. \u201cI would take trips. I would also have something for nursing homes because my mom is in a nursing home.\u201d<\/p>\n

A man, who did not share his name, told News4JAX he would \u201cbuy an island like Janet Jackson.\u201d<\/p>\n

Omari had a different response.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would just want to move out of Jacksonville,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Williams also said he would move out of Jacksonville if he were to win.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet out of Jacksonville, maybe travel the world, quit my job,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n

Payments would be spread over 30 years, or a winner could choose an immediate lump sum of an estimated $498.4 million, again before taxes.<\/p>\n

Ticket sales end at 10:59 p.m.<\/p>\n
