It\u2019s gonna be a great match I hope \u2014 this time. I\u2019m feeling good. She\u2019s playing some great tennis, so I really hope that we\u2019ll put on a great performance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anisimova and fourth-seeded Jessica Pegula are the only two Americans left in the women\u2019s singles draw.<\/p>\n<p>A native of Freehold Township, N.J., Anisimova\u2019s run to the Wimbledon final earlier this summer was her best result at a Grand Slam.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Monday night was devoid of any drama for Anisimova.<\/p>\n<p>The first set took her just 26 minutes to wrap up as Haddad Maia hit four double-faults and never looked at ease with her serve. <\/p>\n<p>Haddad Maia was more competitive in the second set, but never led and remained inconsistent on serve, with Anisimova breaking three more times.<\/p>\n<p>Anisimova finished the match with 27 winners and joked afterward that she didn\u2019t get much support from the crowd, which rooted for the Brazilian largely out of a desire to avoid going home early.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.47763348;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"36995167\" width=\"872\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/amanda-anisimova-usa-reacts-defeats-110522309.jpg\" alt=\"Amanda Anisimova celebrates a victory at the US Open.\" class=\"wp-image-36995167\"\/>Amanda Anisimova celebrates a victory at the US Open. JASON SZENES\/ NY POST<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the Round of 16, and there\u2019s gonna be nerves,\u201d Anisimova said. \u201cEspecially against Bea, who is such a tough opponent I really have to stay mentally strong. \u2026 I love playing on big stages, so I feel like my game, I play so freely out here.
