{"id":194575,"date":"2025-09-02T16:42:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T16:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/194575\/"},"modified":"2025-09-02T16:42:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T16:42:10","slug":"iga-swiatek-responds-when-asked-how-she-feels-about-having-to-play-amanda-anisimova-again-at-the-us-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/194575\/","title":{"rendered":"Iga Swiatek responds when asked how she feels about having to play Amanda Anisimova again at the US Open"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Iga Swiatek is back in the quarter-finals of the US Open, maintaining the magical form she has exhibited all summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Starting at Wimbledon, she has just continued to win and win, picking up her first title at the All-England Club before then winning the Cincinnati Open too.<\/p>\n<p>Now, she is on the warpath in New York, and it would be unwise to bet against her.<\/p>\n<p>However, the former world number one faces a unique threat next, with American <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/amanda-anisimova\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Amanda Anisimova<\/a> almost certain to be itching to get revenge.<\/p>\n<p>After all, she was the last victim in <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/iga-swiatek\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Iga Swiatek\u2019s<\/a> Wimbledon crusade, beaten heavily, 6-0, 6-0, in the final.<\/p>\n<p>Quizzed on that potential showdown, the Polish superstar gave an interesting answer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Iga Swiatek reacts to potentially facing Amanda Anisimova again<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After all, it had not yet been decided who she would be facing, with Anisimova yet to face Beatriz Haddad Maia. Naturally, she won with ease, thus setting up the clash everybody wants to see.<\/p>\n<p>Asked about her ruthlessness in that final, and how she might feel if they were to meet again, Swiatek admitted: \u201cI mean, I think most of us were raised that way. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, if you want to become an athlete, like, you need to want to win the point, and yeah, honestly, I think every athlete has kind of the same vision and mentality, but obviously, because of the score at Wimbledon, everybody started asking these questions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you don\u2019t play sports, you don\u2019t get it, but if you do, then you know that you\u2019re not gonna give anything for free. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd yeah, well, we\u2019ll see how the match goes. There\u2019s no point now for me to like overthink who I\u2019m going to play.
