{"id":194865,"date":"2025-09-02T19:19:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T19:19:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/194865\/"},"modified":"2025-09-02T19:19:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T19:19:10","slug":"womens-basketball-acc-slate-set-for-2025-26-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/194865\/","title":{"rendered":"Women\u2019s Basketball ACC Slate Set for 2025-26 Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>CHARLOTTE, N.C.<\/strong> &#8211; In conjunction with ESPN and ACC Network, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2025-26 women&#8217;s basketball conference schedule Tuesday night on ACC Network.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHighlighted by nine home games at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the ACC conference schedule is filled with exciting matchups in Winston-Salem including a pair of Big-4 matchups against NC State (Thursday, Jan. 15) and North Carolina (Sunday, Feb. 8).<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Deacs will tip off the 2025-26 conference season at home against 2025 NCAA Tournament team Georgia Tech on Sunday, Dec. 14 and host Miami on Thursday. Dec. 18 before completing non-conference play.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe first road game in conference play tips off the New Year as the Deacs head north for a clash with Pitt on Thursday, Jan. 1.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe 18-game schedule also features all three 2024 additions to the ACC in matchups on the road. The Deacs travel to Stanford on Thursday, Jan. 8, Cal on Sunday, Jan. 11 and SMU on Thursday, Feb. 5.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nGame times and broadcast information for each of the Demon Deacons&#8217; 18 conference games will be announced at a later date.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Opening Night Right Around the Corner<\/strong><br \/>\nWake Forest is less than 70 days away from tipping its season on Monday, Nov. 3 against Radford.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe only time when the Demon Deacons leave Winston-Salem is for the <a href=\"https:\/\/godeacs.com\/news\/2025\/7\/3\/womens-basketball-deacs-set-to-take-part-in-2025-discover-puerto-rico-shootout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2025 Discover Puerto Rico Shootout in late November with games against Morgan State, Illinois State and UCF.<\/a><br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nGame times and broadcast information for each of the Demon Deacons&#8217; 12 non-conference games will be announced at a later date.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Season Tickets On Sale<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/godeacs.evenue.net\/events\/WBST\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Women&#8217;s basketball season tickets are $60 for adults and $49 for Youth (Ages 2 &#8211; 18) as well as $49 for Seniors (Ages 65+)<\/a>.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nAlong with your purchase of a women&#8217;s basketball season ticket package this season there are many added benefits exclusive only to those who buy season tickets. Basketball Overview<\/strong><br \/>\nHeading into the fourth season of the <a href=\"https:\/\/godeacs.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/coaches\/megan-gebbia\/1149\" rel=\"smarttag noopener\" rev=\"1149\" target=\"_blank\">Megan Gebbia<\/a> era, the Demon Deacons restocked the roster with an infusion of exciting young talent as well as veteran transfers, adding eight new players in total ahead of the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n<p>On National Signing Day, Wake Forest inked <a href=\"https:\/\/godeacs.com\/news\/2024\/11\/13\/womens-basketball-gebbia-inks-four-in-strong-signing-class\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a group of promising incoming players<\/a> from around the world including <a href=\"https:\/\/godeacs.com\/news\/2025\/4\/16\/womens-basketball-deacs-ink-metcalfe-to-complete-2025-signing-class\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two players from Australia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The roster also has key transfer additions who will look to make an immediate impact this season including all-conference selections in <a href=\"https:\/\/godeacs.com\/news\/2025\/4\/7\/womens-basketball-deacs-add-transfer-guard-for-2025-26\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Raven Preston from Elon<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/godeacs.com\/news\/2025\/4\/17\/womens-basketball-transfer-all-conference-player-latest-to-sign-with-deacs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mary Carter from Cal Poly<\/a>. Additionally, the Deacs also <a href=\"https:\/\/godeacs.com\/news\/2025\/4\/9\/womens-basketball-top-forward-transfer-signs-with-deacs-ahead-of-2025-26-season\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed Colorado transfer forward Grace Oliver<\/a> who was a four-star recruit by ESPNW (92 grade prospect) and was the No. 84 ranked player in the country in 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assists On Made Baskets <\/strong><br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Deacs did an excellent job of moving the ball last season, as they assisted on 394 of 667 made baskets this season (59.1 pct.). This was the highest assist percentage in the Gebbia era and the assist percentage ranks in the top 70 percent in the nation according to HerHoopStats.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nWake Forest assisted on 21 of its 27 made baskets (78 percent) against Louisville. This marked the most assists for Wake Forest since they recorded 24 against Saint Louis on Nov. 20, 2023.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAdditionally, the 21 assists marked the most this season by the Deacs and most against an ACC opponent since Jan. 19, 2017 in an 80-77 victory over North Carolina. It was the third time this season Wake Forest logged at least 20 assists, with the first two coming against Winthrop and Gardner-Webb (both 20).<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n<strong>Forcing Them Over\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nForcing the Panthers into 21 turnovers in the regular season finale. The Deacs have forced 10 or more takeaways 67 times in the last 71 games. The 71-game stretch goes back to January of 2022.\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThis season, Wake Forest totaled 257 steals including 11 on Sunday. The Demon Deacons steal numbers ended the year ranking inside of the top 100 nationally.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe 28 turnovers forced against Cal was the most forced in a single-game this season for the Deacs. Additionally, it was the second-highest turnover game of the season for the nationally-ranked Bears. The only game where they had more turnovers came on Thursday at No. 14 Duke when Cal turned it over 31 times.
