MANLIUS, N.Y. \u2014 The Fayetteville-Manlius School District said it’s on track to receive its Faraday-Velcro pouches.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the district said that the pouches have cleared through customs. Now, they’re expecting them to arrive sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

The district announced on Aug. 29 that its pouches were selected for a cargo inspection\/examination<\/a> by U.S. Customs & Border Protection. The pouches were the district’s decision to store student’s phones in to comply with Governor Kathy Hochul’s “bell-to-bell” cell phone ban.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, before the pouches arrive, students are asked to keep their devices at home. Any internet-enabled device brought into school must be kept in a locker.<\/p>\n

Fayetteville-Manlius grades Pre-K to ninth began school on Tuesday.
