He\u2019s one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFort Worth is a city that thrives on vision, and I\u2019ve been fortunate to see what happens when a community rallies behind its culinary talent,\u201d Kirkpatrick said in a statement. \u201cThe Kirkpatrick Visionary Fund is about giving back to the very people who make this region such a dynamic place to eat, drink, and gather. Each award will be chosen by a selection committee of North Texas business leaders, the foundation said.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural committee is composed of Marcelle LeBlanc (Velvet Box), Joey Turner (BREWED, Daymakers), Maurice Ahern (Gold Ribbon Confections\/Grounds &amp; Gold), Tina Howard (Leaves Bakery and Books), and Hao Tran (Hao\u2019s Grocery &amp; Caf\u00e9).<\/p>\n<p>The Kirkpatrick Visionary Fund builds on Kirkpatrick\u2019s legacy by helping bring fresh ideas to life, the foundation said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-278905\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/FWFoodWine_KirkpatrickVisionary_BurgersBrewsandBlues-970.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"970\" height=\"464\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-278905\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Burgers, Brews, and Blues [Photo: Nancy Farrar]<\/p>\n<p>According to the foundation, the fund is designed to support projects that move both a business and the North Texas culinary scene forward\u2014whether it\u2019s launching a new product line, expanding a beloved neighborhood spot, reimagining a business model, or creating a program rooted in community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe foundation was built on Russell\u2019s vision: that Fort Worth\u2019s culinary talent deserved a stage, and that the funds raised could go right back into growing that community,\u201d Julie Eastman, executive director of FWFWF, said in a statement. \u201cThis fund is an extension of that same mission\u2014to champion, cultivate, and celebrate the people shaping the future of the North Texas hospitality industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation said that to date, it has invested $613,000 back into the community via culinary scholarships, classroom grants, chef stipends, emergency relief funds, partnerships with organizations such as Southern Smoke Foundation, and now, the Kirkpatrick Visionary Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t miss what\u2019s next.
