{"id":195465,"date":"2025-09-03T00:41:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T00:41:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/195465\/"},"modified":"2025-09-03T00:41:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T00:41:11","slug":"dr-phils-500m-trinity-broadcasting-fight-eyes-settlement-ceo-hauled-into-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/195465\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Phil&#8217;s $500M Trinity Broadcasting Fight Eyes Settlement; CEO Hauled Into Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>EXCLUSIVE:<\/strong> A year ago <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/dr-phil\/\" id=\"auto-tag_dr-phil\" data-tag=\"dr-phil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Phil<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/trinity-broadcasting\/\" id=\"auto-tag_trinity-broadcasting\" data-tag=\"trinity-broadcasting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trinity Broadcasting<\/a> Network CEO Matthew Crouch sat together warning \u201cthe family in America is under attack\u201d and of the ravages of \u201ccancel culture.\u201d Cut to 2025 and the past few weeks and the two ex-buddies and business partners are attacking each other and their respective companies in multi-pronged multi-million dollar lawsuits and bankruptcy\u00a0proceedings over who pulled a fast one on who, how, and for how much. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHowever, looks like hope may just spring eternal as the parties appear to be moving towards a settlement in the $500 million dispute \u2013 or at least talking about such a settlement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA stray remark by one of the lawyers Tuesday in an otherwise benign status conference in federal court in Texas first uncovered the revelation that the Holy War of sorts between Dr. Phil\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/merit-street-media\/\" id=\"auto-tag_merit-street-media\" data-tag=\"merit-street-media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Merit Street Media<\/a> and the self-declared world\u2019s largest Christian network could be in its End Days. Biblical references aside, discussions between the parties, which include <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/phil-mcgraw\/\" id=\"auto-tag_phil-mcgraw\" data-tag=\"phil-mcgraw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Phil McGraw<\/a>\u2018s Peteski Productions as well as in the creditor camp the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/tko-group-holdings\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tko-group-holdings\" data-tag=\"tko-group-holdings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TKO Group Holdings<\/a>\u2018-owned Professional Bull Riders, are in a distinctly preliminary stage, sources from both sides tell me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTo that, phrases like \u201cwe\u2019re seeing some \u201cprogress\u201d and \u201cendgame\u201d are being used as the process between multiple law firms plays out. Still, it is a long way from where things stood just over a week ago. As <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/08\/dr-phil-lawsuit-trinity-broadcasting-1236499255\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">threats of sanctions, delays and both sides calling the other liars <\/a>are in the air, an expedited hearing scheduled for September 4 could provide a roadmap of how far along the conversations are. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThis week\u2019s hearing may also indicate what the sides are willing to put up and toss out to make this admittedly rather messy business go away. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFor all the bile out of the MSM <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/07\/dr-phil-merit-street-media-jv-bankruptcy-sues-trinity-1236448188\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chapter 11 move of early July and the almost immediate breach of contract action<\/a> against TBN, who<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/08\/dr-phil-countersued-trinity-broadcasting-bankruptcy-1236492708\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> countersued in late August <\/a>over the production and distribution deal that quickly went to Hell, a slew of texts and emails introduced into the docket in the past few days put a chill on everyone. With pledges from Dr. Phil himself, Peteski\u2019s chief operating officer Joel Cheatwood and others, the messages (many more of which TBN are seeking) promise to \u201cwipe out all the sh*t Matt Crouch has burdened us with,\u2019 as well as seemingly stealthily form a new Envoy company out of the financial ruins of Merit Street Media. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAn overarching concern for all involved is that more such communications will come out that will prove a pox on everyone\u2019s houses, so to speak. Which is why the lawyers are trying to craft a deal that leaves Dr. Phil and Matthew Crouch\u2019s TBN both taking vows of silence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOn that note, neither spokespeople nor attorneys for the UTA-repped Dr. Phil, Peteski Productions or Merit Street Media responded to Deadline\u2019s request for comment on the state of possible settlement talks.
