Springport, N.Y. \u2014 A Cayuga County man who works at a school was charged Friday with sexually abusing a child under the age of 11, deputies said. <\/p>\n
Craig S. Gilmore, 63, of Springport, <\/b>was charged with first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and first-degree sexual abuse, according to <\/b>the Cayuga County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
After a week-long investigation, deputies arrested Gilmore at his home.<\/p>\n
Gilmore was a maintenance worker at Union Springs Academy in Union Springs, according to the school\u2019s principal, Timothy Raymond. Gilmore was fired as a result of his arrest, he said. <\/p>\n
Raymond said the alleged abuse did not involve the school or students. <\/p>\n
The academy is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian boarding school.<\/p>\n
Gilmore is being held at the Cayuga County Jail.<\/p>\n
The sheriff\u2019s office said the investigation is ongoing and limited information is being released at this time.<\/p>\n
