The Cowboys are starting with a new coach and without Micah Parsons.<\/p>\n<p>DALLAS \u2014 The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles will unveil their second Super Bowl banner in seven years, before kicking off the 2025 NFL season on Thursday night against the rival <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/cowboys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Dallas Cowboys<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Banner night for Philly. Business night for Dallas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019mma watch it,&#8221; admitted Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb, referring to the pregame ceremony. \u201cIt\u2019s not really anything personal, but it\u2019s something that I\u2019m chasing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Motivation manifests in various ways. The Eagles don&#8217;t plan to watch the unveiling at all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t know it was banner night,&#8221; said Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. &#8220;No, we won\u2019t be out there for that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Cowboys have turned the page to 2025 as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegardless of the ceremonies or whatever is going on \u2014 we ultimately have a job to do and that\u2019s to win,&#8221; said Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Smith. \u201cThey can do whatever they want. We\u2019re gonna go out there and handle business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Business overshadowed the Cowboys&#8217; offseason due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/sports\/nfl\/cowboys\/cowboys-owner-jerry-jones-dismisses-micah-parsons-trade-request-negotiation-talk\/287-779ac50f-1a87-4bf3-abd2-f37bbf5e36bc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">months-long contract dispute <\/a>with Micah Parsons, who was ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/sports\/nfl\/cowboys\/micah-parsons-traded-to-green-bay-packers-report-says\/287-4e12f0a3-0d33-414d-b4e0-a11ac6e73535\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">traded to the Green Bay Packers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In return, the Cowboys received a pair of first-round draft picks along with the talents of veteran <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/sports\/nfl\/cowboys\/who-is-kenny-clark-dallas-cowboys-got-from-micah-parsons-trade\/287-1fcd97fd-7a80-4829-bc12-be76cee4984a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">defensive tackle Kenny Clark<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m here to play football,\u201d Clark said. \u201cI\u2019m not worried about Micah [Parsons], the trade, all that stuff is behind me. I\u2019m here to help this team win, and we\u2019re trying to get a championship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>New season, new faces and a new chapter for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/sports\/nfl\/cowboys\/dallas-cowboys-head-coach-hire\/287-e923b3c1-7b2e-493a-84e3-16263042c72a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer<\/a>, who will make his NFL regular-season head coaching debut on Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlay free. It\u2019s football,\u201d Schottenheimer said, regarding his message to the team. \u201cFly around. Love being with your brothers. Just run to the football, celebrate, have fun. We\u2019re guaranteed 17 of these [games]. This is the first one. I think our guys will play well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Eagles want to prove they&#8217;re still the standard.
