{"id":196010,"date":"2025-09-03T05:27:16","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T05:27:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/196010\/"},"modified":"2025-09-03T05:27:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T05:27:16","slug":"iga-swiatek-explains-what-she-finds-harder-about-playing-at-the-us-open-compared-to-wimbledon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/196010\/","title":{"rendered":"Iga Swiatek explains what she finds &#8216;harder&#8217; about playing at the US Open compared to Wimbledon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Iga Swiatek is continuing to win at the US Open, despite finding some things challenging about the New York major.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/iga-swiateks-best-friend-reveals-if-they-still-speak-after-being-thrashed-by-her-at-the-us-open-two-years-ago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swiatek has enjoyed some dominant US Open wins<\/a> in her career, including over her best friend, and she continued that sort of form after beating Ekaterina Alexandrova, 6-3 6-1.<\/p>\n<p>This was a much more impressive performance from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/wim-fissette-expected-to-make-important-phone-call-after-iga-swiatek-scraped-through-to-the-us-open-third-round\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swiatek, who struggled in her two previous matches at the US Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite her comprehensive victory, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/iga-swiatek\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swiatek<\/a> has revealed that she finds certain things more challenging at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/us-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US Open<\/a> compared to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wimbledon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"669\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2232704096-1024x669.jpg\" alt=\"Iga Swiatek of Poland talks to the media after defeating Ekaterina Alexandrova in the fourth round on Day 9 of the US Open at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.\" \/>Photo by Robert Prange\/Getty ImagesIga Swiatek says she finds the crowds at the US Open \u2018harder\u2019 than at Wimbledon<\/p>\n<p>Swiatek is a six-time Grand Slam champion, with four of those major title victories coming at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/french-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roland Garros<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Pole won her most recent major on grass, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/sam-querrey-reveals-everything-that-happened-at-the-wimbledon-champions-dinner-after-iga-swiatek-and-jannik-sinner-won\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swiatek winning Wimbledon for the first time<\/a> in July.<\/p>\n<p>Swiatek is also a former US Open champion, having won the title in 2022, but explained in her post-match press conference that she finds it harder to focus more in New York with the crowd noise and the bright lights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, for sure it\u2019s harder to focus, and the sensation is different and it\u2019s harder to be in your bubble,\u201d said Swiatek.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the other hand, like, honestly, if I\u2019m gonna actually be in my bubble, I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll hear anything, so it just depends on how a day and on how I how I do this and how I do the work, like in my head mentally to ignore all these sounds, but yeah, it\u2019s a totally different experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven like with the introduction before the match, at Wimbledon you don\u2019t have it, but here, like, you know, suddenly everybody\u2019s reminded you how much you won.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then the screens, you know, at the stadium, sometimes, like, you see the lights during the point and it\u2019s different, for sure, it\u2019s a totally different experience. It\u2019s harder here, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amanda Anisimova \u2018excited\u2019 for rematch with Iga Swiatek at the US Open<\/p>\n<p>There will be a Wimbledon feel to Swiatek\u2019s quarterfinal match at the US Open, as she will play American <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/amanda-anisimova\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amanda Anisimova<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/iga-swiatek-responds-when-asked-if-she-considered-giving-amanda-anisimova-a-game-in-the-wimbledon-final\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swiatek beat Anisimova 6-0 6-0 in the Wimbledon final<\/a>, making it the first time a player had not won a game in a major final since 1988.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the heartbreaking experience for Anisimova at Wimbledon, she actually revealed in her on-court interview after beating Beatriz Haddad Maia that she was looking forward to playing Swiatek again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho would have thought we would be meeting again so soon,\u201d said Anisimova. \u201cI\u2019m just super excited, and it\u2019s going to be a great match, I hope, this time (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I\u2019m feeling good, and she is playing some great tennis.
