The Met Gala may be the Super Bowl of fashion, but Jennifer Aniston\u2019s not playing.<\/p>\n
The \u201cFriends\u201d icon told Glamour she\u2019s been invited to fashion\u2019s biggest night, but putting on a full couture look and facing the famous staircase simply isn\u2019t her vibe.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, I have [been invited], but I don\u2019t go,\u201d the 56-year-old told the magazine<\/a>. \u201cIt overwhelms me.\u201d<\/p>\n Jennifer Aniston revealed that the red carpet is \u201ca mental game\u201d \u2014 one that she sometimes prefers to skip. I love dressing up too, but for me it\u2019s a mental game of\u2026\u2019Let\u2019s get dressed up, put on a fancy dress, makeup, get your hair all \u2018purdy\u2019 and go sit in a big room with your peers.\u2019 [And yes,] everyone\u2019s there to celebrate each other and have some fun, but I get nervous.\u201d<\/p>\n Aniston confessed she\u2019s long had a complicated relationship with red carpets. <\/p>\n In the same Glamour chat, the actress called out the viciousness of some critics: \u201cSome people find it like a sport where they build you up and then they love to tear you down. What\u2019s the reason why people do it? Who knows? But I just try as best I can [to tune it out] because it doesn\u2019t do you any good.\u201d<\/p>\n Still, Aniston is no stranger to red carpets.
