Here\u2019s the latest single from \u201cThe Way The West Was Won\u201d, Dallas Burrow\u2019s latest album which is out September 26th on Forty Below Records.\u00a0 \u00a0\u2018Colorado Bound\u2018 is a finger-picked ballad, which has a timeless nostalgia to it \u2013 all this talk of heading out West in \u201cSleeper Cars\u201d might conjure up images of 19th century expansion, twenties (that\u2019s nineteen-twenties) luxury travel or it could even be today, for those few still embracing the romance of the rail.\u00a0 Burrow\u2019s even touches on this with lyrics questioning whether this is a repeated journey from another previous life, an eternal questing, a d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu of a parting.<\/p>\n

And if that\u2019s the feel the song conveys then Burrow has sucedded in his intent, as he explains: \u201cOur subject is catching a train, running away from their old life, crossing the great plains, and heading for a new start in the mountains of Colorado.\u00a0 I pictured as I wrote it, that this was all sort of set in the old west, with the image of an 1800s era train platform, and a coal fired locomotive. I had the great honour once again of having one of my all time favourite\u00a0singers join me on this one; this time, the lovely and talented Ms. Kelly Willis adds her signature, golden voice to this song\u2019s landscape. Coincidentally, I realized after I had written the song that there is actually a Townes Van Zandt song by the same name. Once again, this track is brought to life by Katie Shore\u2019s world class fiddle playing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
