A list of the markers and the locations can be found on the Phoenix Police Department\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n Details on 2024 shooting that killed Phoenix Officer Zane Coolidge<\/p>\n On Sept. 3, 2024, Coolidge and another Phoenix police officer, Matthew Haney, responded to the area of 16th Street and McDowell Road due to a report of a car theft.<\/p>\n The officers approached a suspect, Saul Bal<\/a>, who ran away and jumped over a fence.<\/p>\n Bal allegedly shot at the officers when they chased after him.<\/p>\n Both Coolidge and Haney were shot and taken to Banner University Medical Center.<\/p>\n Coolidge died three days later<\/a>. Haney was discharged from the hospital one day after being shot.<\/p>\n Bal was taken into custody by officers at the scene.
