JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 If you\u2019ve been waiting for a break in the weather, Jacksonville is finally seeing it. <\/p>\n

Everything looks clear across the city today. Temperatures started off around 68 to 69 degrees this morning, and are expected to climb by just a degree or so through the early morning. <\/p>\n

Along the coast, it\u2019s a bit warmer, with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.<\/p>\n

Conditions are expected to stay mostly clear, with only a few light, fast-moving showers possible\u2014mainly for areas south of the city or right on the shoreline. <\/p>\n

Forecasts show a minimal chance of seeing much rain, if any, in the next five days. <\/p>\n

Winds that have been an issue recently are calming down, with only a touch of breeze left for today\u2014making for a much more comfortable afternoon outdoors. <\/p>\n

Expect temperatures to rise into the upper 80s and low 90s as the week goes on, with humidity staying in check until early next week.<\/p>\n

High rip current risk<\/b><\/p>\n

Planning a stroll on the beach this morning or during your lunch break? <\/p>\n

While the weather is pleasant, the rip current risk is high today along the First Coast beaches. <\/p>\n

Even on a clear day, it\u2019s important to stay out of the surf and exercise extra caution near the waterline. <\/p>\n

Swimmers and surfers are urged to respect warning flags and advisories\u2014the red zone is visible on the station\u2019s Exact Track 4D graphics.<\/p>\n

Tropical weather outlook<\/b><\/p>\n

As the week continues, The Weather Authority team is closely monitoring an area of disorganized showers and storms out in the Atlantic. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s a 70% chance that this tropical disturbance will develop into a depression or tropical storm within the next seven days. While the system is not yet named, any changes will be updated in future forecasts.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the dry pattern is expected to hold through the weekend, with temperatures rising into the 90s. <\/p>\n

By Monday, however, rain chances are forecast to increase, and daytime highs may dip back into the 80s as unsettled weather potentially moves in. <\/p>\n

For now, Jacksonville can enjoy a few days of sunshine\u2014just remember to keep an eye on the sky and beach conditions, especially as tropical systems develop offshore.<\/p>\n
