John Daly is sharing a blast from the past about one of his good friends, Tiger Woods<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The professional golfers have been friends for years, and during a conversation<\/a> with Hard Rock Bet, Daly shared one of his \u201ccraziest\u201d adventures he\u2019s had with Woods.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I think it was back at Sherwood during the Target World Challenge. I asked him to come have a drink with us\u2014I had a bottle of Crown on the table. My buddy was drinking vodka, and I said, \u2018We just finished playing, looks like we\u2019re paired again tomorrow.\u2019 Tiger goes, \u2018Yeah, I can\u2019t have one right now. I\u2019m gonna go hit some balls,\u2019\u201d Daly told the betting site.<\/p>\n

While Daly and a friend were having fun drinking after playing golf, he asks Woods to join them.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouple hours later, I\u2019m still at the table, going through another bottle of Crown with the boys. Tiger walks by again, and I ask him, \u2018Where you headed now?\u2019 He says, \u2018Going to go work out.\u2019 I said, \u2018Come on, man, have a drink with me \u2013 we\u2019re playing tomorrow!\u201d Daly said.<\/p>\n

Woods agreed to the offer but the 1991 PGA champion was not prepared for what the golfer would come out wearing to have a drink.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still in my same slacks and shirt, got crap all over them from the round,\u201d Daly continues. \u201cThen Tiger comes back, he\u2019s in a tuxedo. I ask, \u2018Where you going?\u2019 and he says, \u2018We\u2019re in the ballroom in 10 minutes. Where\u2019s your tuxedo?\u2019 I go, \u2018What tuxedo?\u2019 I didn\u2019t even know we had a dinner to go to.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe tells me, \u2018Yeah, I\u2019ve got a guitar set up for you. You\u2019re supposed to do a song.\u2019 So I walk into this ballroom, barefoot, shirt stained, untucked, still in my golf clothes \u2013 and he hands me this old nylon-string guitar, looked like something Willie Nelson would play. Tuners were falling out. I said, \u2018Alright, give me five minutes to tune this thing,\u2019\u201d Daly adds.<\/p>\n

Daly revealed that he and Woods ended up having a memorable night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI played \u2018Knockin\u2019 on Heaven\u2019s Door\u2019 and got a standing ovation. I tipped the sound guy with a bottle of Crown and said, \u2018See y\u2019all tomorrow.\u2019 Next morning, I\u2019m still in the same clothes. My caddy brings me some Crown to the first tee. I just said, \u2018Give me a 3-iron and let\u2019s go.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Daly added that he ended up doing a better than Woods in the friendly competition the next day, \u201cSo, I think I got Tiger drunk just off my breath. I shoot 65, he shoots 72. He was a little p*****, but we had a blast.\u201d<\/p>\n

The professional golfers were last seen together at the 2024 PNC Championship but are both out of tournaments following injuries sustained this year. Woods ruptured his left Achilles and had surgery in March. As for Daly, he had hand surgery this year but is hopeful to be back on the green sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n
