\n\tRadiohead have announced<\/a> a run of 20 shows to take place in five cities across Europe.\u00a0The band will play four shows each in Madrid, Bologna, London, Copenhagen and Berlin.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a message to fans, Radiohead<\/a>\u2019s Philip Selway said:<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLast year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it. After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us. It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates. For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFans have been speculating that Radiohead would be regrouping after they formed a new business entity titled RHEUK25 LLP \u2014 which some interpreted to mean \u201cRadiohead Europe UK 2025\u201d \u2014 in March. Shortly after, tickets to a \u201cRadiohead concert of your choice\u201d were included in a Palisades High School fire relief auction, with a source confirming to Resident Advisor<\/a> that the band had holds for a European residency this fall. In early September, fliers appeared in European cities advertising shows in London and Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

\n\tNews of a Radiohead reunion may not come as a surprise to fans after Colin Greenwood revealed last September that the band had recently reconvened to rehearse. The following month, Yorke addressed speculation that Radiohead was getting back together, telling Australian Broadcasting Corporation<\/a> that \u201cI think we\u2019ve earned the right to do what makes sense to us without having to explain ourselves or be answerable to anyone else\u2019s historical idea of what we should be doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRadiohead last played a live show in Aug. 2018, when they concluded their \u201cA Moon Shaped Pool\u201d tour in Philadelphia. The trek was in support of their ninth studio album before they split off to pursue side projects. In 2019, Yorke released his solo album \u201cAnima\u201d and last year a pair of records as part of the Smile, his group with Jonny Greenwood and Tom Skinner. Meanwhile, Jonny Greenwood scored several films including \u201cPhantom Thread\u201d and \u201cSpencer,\u201d while Colin Greenwood toured with Nick Cave, O\u2019Brien released his debut \u201cEarth\u201d in 2020, and Selway put out his third album \u201cStrange Dance\u201d in 2023.<\/p>\n

\n\tThough the band has been hiatus for some time, they announced last month that they were planning to release a new \u201cHail to the Thief\u201d live album on Oct. 31. In a release, Yorke said of the project, \u201cIn the process of thinking of how to build arrangements for the Shakespeare Hamlet\/Hail To The Thief theatre production, I asked to hear some archive live recordings of the songs. I was shocked by the kind of energy behind the way we played. I barely recognised us, and it helped me find a way forward. We decided to get these live recordings mixed and released (it would have been insane to keep them for ourselves). It has all been a very cathartic process.
