How did officers catch Jeremy Naltazan after sexual assault in Phoenix?<\/p>\n
Around 10 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2024<\/a>, the 67-year-old victim was in her home near Thomas Road and 32nd Street<\/a> in Phoenix when a man, identified as Naltazan, knocked on her front door, according to MCAO.<\/p>\n The woman looked out her window and saw Naltazan, whom she did not know.<\/p>\n Naltazan asked to use the woman\u2019s phone, but she refused and called 911.<\/p>\n As the woman was speaking with a dispatcher, Naltazan broke into her home, grabbed her, covered her mouth and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n Phoenix police got to the home as the assault was taking place.<\/p>\n The woman heard the officers arrive and screamed for help.<\/p>\n This caused Naltazan to run away from the home. Officers were able to catch up with Naltazan and arrest him after a quick pursuit.<\/p>\n Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell credited the \u201cextraordinary courage\u201d as a major factor in Naltazan\u2019s conviction.<\/p>\n \u201cBecause of her strength and the quick response of law enforcement, this dangerous predator has been stopped and our community is safer,\u201d Mitchell said in a press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n Follow @J_Vinton52<\/a><\/p>\n We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n Have a story idea or tip?
