Henderson Ave., which first opened in 2007, announced its closure Wednesday on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After more than 15 years, we\u2019re closing this chapter of The Porch. Thank you for making us part of your lives\u2014your celebrations, first dates, and weeknight rituals. We are forever grateful for your support and your friendship. We\u2019ll see you around the neighborhood!&#8221; the restaurant shared on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Henderson Avenue staple served up elevated but casual American fare and was perhaps best known for its burgers and butter cake.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The popular eatery also served as a launching pad of sorts for Dallas chef Nick Badovinus, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmagazine.com\/publications\/d-magazine\/2008\/september\/whats-next-for-chef-nick-badovinus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">D Magazine<\/a> reported in 2008. He&#8217;s since launched Neighborhood Services, Town Hearth and Brass Ram, among<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmagazine.com\/food-drink\/2022\/11\/behold-the-nick-badovinus-restaurant-comparison-chart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0other restaurants<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant was subsequently acquired by billionaire Tim Headington&#8217;s Headington Companies, whose <a href=\"https:\/\/socialwhirl.com\/2023\/03\/06\/the-porch-reopens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">portfolio<\/a> includes the Joule Hotel, Mirador, Tango Room, and Commissary, among others.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The news of The Porch&#8217;s closure was first reported by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasobserver.com\/restaurants\/the-porch-in-dallas-in-knox-henderson-neighborhood-has-closed-23202455\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Dallas Observer<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/dallas.culturemap.com\/news\/restaurants-bars\/porch-henderson-avenue-closing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">CultureMap Dallas<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Henderson Avenue hotspot was perhaps best known for its burgers and butter cake.
