{"id":198664,"date":"2025-09-04T04:45:13","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T04:45:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/198664\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T04:45:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T04:45:13","slug":"nasas-webb-telescope-discovers-300-mysterious-objects-that-may-illuminate-universes-origins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/198664\/","title":{"rendered":"NASA&#8217;s Webb Telescope Discovers 300 &#8216;Mysterious&#8217; Objects That May Illuminate Universe&#8217;s Origins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">NASA&#8217;s James Webb Space Telescope is helping scientists make discoveries that could alter theories about the universe&#8217;s origins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Scientists at the University of Missouri &#8220;looked deep into the universe and found something unexpected,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/showme.missouri.edu\/2025\/early-galaxies-or-something-else-mizzou-scientists-uncover-mysterious-objects-in-the-universe\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:the university revealed;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">the university revealed<\/a> in an August 2025 statement. &#8220;Using infrared images taken from NASA\u2019s powerful James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), they identified 300 objects that were brighter than they should be.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Those objects may be &#8220;some of the earliest galaxies ever formed,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2025\/08\/250830001153.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Science Daily reported.;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Science Daily reported.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to Science Daily, the findings &#8220;could force scientists to rethink how galaxies emerged after the Big Bang.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Researchers Believe the &#8216;Mysterious Objects&#8217; Might Be &#8216;Very Early Galaxies&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The researchers believe that at least some of the objects may be &#8220;very early galaxies,&#8221; which could change how scientists look at the formation of the universe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThese mysterious objects are candidate galaxies in the early universe, meaning they could be very early galaxies,\u201d said Haojing Yan, an astronomy professor at the University of Missouri and study co-author, according to the university.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cIf even a few of these objects turn out to be what we think they are, our discovery could challenge current ideas about how galaxies formed in the early universe \u2014 the period when the first stars and galaxies began to take shape.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Discoveries Required &#8216;Cosmic Detective Work&#8217; by Experts<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The findings required &#8220;cosmic detective work,&#8221; the university wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cAs the light from these early galaxies travels through space, it stretches into longer wavelengths \u2014 shifting from visible light into infrared,\u201d Yan said, according to the university. \u201cThis stretching is called redshift, and it helps us figure out how far away these galaxies are.
