{"id":198732,"date":"2025-09-04T05:22:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T05:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/198732\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T05:22:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T05:22:09","slug":"smoke-and-electrical-problems-on-regional-jet-lead-to-emergency-landing-in-houston-national-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/198732\/","title":{"rendered":"Smoke and electrical problems on regional jet lead to emergency landing in Houston | National News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>(CNN) \u2014<\/strong> The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a regional jet made an emergency landing in Houston on Wednesday, with the pilots reporting smoke and electrical problems.<\/p>\n<p>United Airlines Express flight 4969, operated by subsidiary CommuteAir, returned to George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport \u201cafter the crew reported smoke in the cockpit,\u201d the FAA said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are having electrical issues,\u201d the air traffic control tower told emergency crews waiting for the plane to land, according to recordings captured by <a href=\"http:\/\/LiveATC.net\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LiveATC.net<\/a>. \u201cThey are losing electrical.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The plane parked on a taxiway and the pilots requested to be towed to the terminal.<\/p>\n<p>The landing was \u201cdue a potential maintenance issue,\u201d CommuteAir said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>All passengers were safely returned to the gate and are awaiting another flight to Panama City, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe apologize for this inconvenience and are preparing a new aircraft to operate the flight to ECP,\u201d Jason Kadah the airline\u2019s Managing Director, Communications, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The-CNN-Wire<\/p>\n<p>\u2122 &amp; \u00a9 2025 Cable News Network, Inc., a Warner Bros.
