A crash involving two cars at the intersection of North Broad and Wallace streets left a child and two men hurt on Wednesday, officials confirmed to NBC10.<\/p>\n
The crash happened in the Spring Garden section of the city around 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 3 when a 2021 white-colored Hyundai Kona going the wrong way blew through a red light, police said.<\/p>\n
When the car went through the light, it crashed into a 2017 white-colored Toyota Camry that was traveling on Wallace Street causing both vehicles to sustain extensive damage to their front bumpers, officials explained. <\/p>\n
The driver of the Toyota denied medical attention because he wanted to go with his 11-year-old son, who was a passenger, to the hospital where the child was placed in critical condition, police said. <\/p>\n
A 39-year-old man also riding as a passenger in the Toyota was taken to a nearby hospital where he was placed in stable condition, according to police. <\/p>\n
The driver of the Hyundai, a 33-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was placed in a critical condition, police said.<\/p>\n
SkyForce10 was over the scene to find two cars damaged in the middle of the intersection, with traffic slowed down but allowed to pass. <\/p>\n
Multiple police cars were also on scene, as well as a tow truck. <\/p>\n
Police have also put down sand to trap fuel that may have spilled on the roadway as well. <\/p>\n
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Crash Investigation Division is looking into what caused this crash.<\/p>\n
