It includes all of Duval, St. Johns, Nassau, Baker and Clay counties. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\">Northeast Florida has also been assigned a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news4jax.com\/news\/local\/2024\/02\/25\/new-324-area-code-coming-monday-to-northeast-florida-904-is-here-to-stay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201c324\u2033 area code<\/a> due to recent population growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Speaking of growth, the U.S. Census reported in the last 10 years, the city of Jacksonville\u2019s population grew by nearly 130,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\">To celebrate 904 Day, we want to see your favorite spot in the 904, whether it\u2019s a well-known place or a hidden gem. In 1901, the fire spread across downtown and burned 2,368 buildings and 466 acres. It was the largest metropolitan fire in the South. It left more than 8,600 people homeless.
