Jeffrey Wright, one of the busiest actors in recent years, sat down for an interview ahead of Spike Lee\u2019s Highest 2 Lowest, where he shared his take on the growing reliance on AI, drawing from the alarming ideas depicted in Westworld. In his recent interview with Collider<\/a>, Jeffrey Wright<\/a> touched on many topics. Some were related to his work, others to his philosophy, but he eventually addressed the growing reliance on AI. He was already part of HBO\u2019s Westworld, which explored catastrophic ideas linked to the rise of technology.<\/p>\n \u201cWestworld was a documentary,\u201d Wright said when asked if the show was still relevant today. \u201cI think every day that becomes more and more the case. What Westworld was ultimately centered on was, yes, the technology, but more so its usage and by whom and to what end. It was a show, ultimately, about power and control by the few over the many. That\u2019s the thing that\u2019s most concerning to me \u2014 the distillation of power and wealth into the hands of an increasingly small circle of individuals. That\u2019s super dangerous,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Moreover, Wright had deeper views on this. He elaborated, \u201cI find it interesting and also concerning, too, the ways in which there\u2019s an overlap between the creeping political authoritarianism that we see not only in our country, but globally, with the kind of authoritarian intent that\u2019s built inside the companies that are producing these technologies.\u201d He added, \u201cIt\u2019s really fascinating and alarming.
