Sometimes the unexpected things in life are the best, especially when animal duos<\/a> are concerned. Recently, a massive bear<\/a> was caught on video roaming around in a rural area outside of Los Angeles with an unexpected friend.<\/p>\n

The footage, from a police cruiser, showed this gentle giant with none other than a tiny coyote by their side. It was both an incredibly cute incident and a heartwarming story of unlikely friendship.<\/p>\n

According to the social media video, which was posted by the LA County Sheriff\u2019s Department, a bear and a coyote are shown in the middle of the night, \u201changing out and developing a close bond.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to this video, the sheriff\u2019s station captioned the post: \u201cWhen you and your coworker finally take that lunchtime walk you\u2019ve been talking about all week.\u201d<\/p>\n

A separate report<\/a> stated that this footage came about as a result of a service call to the Altadena Sheriff\u2019s Station dispatch, when a resident spotted the massive bear in their area and requested help in getting the creature to move along.<\/p>\n

When the deputies arrived on the scene, they quickly realized that this massive bear had a little companion with them, the coyote.<\/p>\n

Coyotes and Bears, Oh My!<\/p>\n

That same report noted that it is actually not that uncommon to see coyotes tagging along with bears. Oftentimes, bears will scrape up extra food scraps that coyotes would not have been able to get to on their own otherwise.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also worth noting that last year, the Altadena area was ravaged by wildfires, which resulted in much natural habitat loss for these creatures. So, this bear and coyote traveling together could very well be a matter of survival.<\/p>\n

They could very well do better together than they would without each other. Hopefully, they are helping each other survive and enjoying a fulfilling companionship. At the very least, we got one heck of a really cute video out of it!<\/p>\n
