Are the Texans ready to take the next step and become a legit AFC threat? Los Angeles will provide a solid measuring stick, and this game remains close all the way to the final play.<\/p>\n

This game is a reunion of sorts for C.J. Stroud who returns to his native Southern California for his first time as a pro. Will the Rams spoil Stroud’s LA reunion? The Rams havea scary offense with new wideout Davante Adams.<\/p>\n

Christopher Bumbaca:<\/strong> Los Angeles Rams (-3)<\/p>\n

The biggest knocks against the Texans last season revolved around the offensive line. The offseason didn’t do much to change that perspective. And the Rams have one heck of a front seven.<\/p>\n

Matthew Stafford is expected to play Week 1. That’s all the news we needed to hear. In every department, LA has Houston beat. They should clear this spread with ease.<\/p>\n

I would wait until a little later to get clarity on Matthew Stafford’s availability, and, frankly, I’d avoid this game altogether. It will be fun to watch, I don’t know that it’s safe to wager.<\/p>\n

This pick has far more to do with the Matthew Stafford’s back troubles than anything else, but C.J. Stroud’s offense can put up points in a hurry. Sure, I’ll gladly take a few extra.<\/p>\n
