Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert<\/strong> has opened the door to a possible appearance at Los Angeles 2028<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Flag football<\/a> will make its Olympic debut at the next summer Games, with NFL players clear to compete<\/a> in the event.<\/p>\n

And while three-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes ruled himself out of contention back in May, fellow QB Herbert admits the opportunity would be \u201creally cool\u201d.<\/p>\n

“I think it would be a great opportunity for LA,” the American said ahead of the NFL season, which starts on Thursday (4 September).<\/p>\n

“It’s a great city and they care so much about their sports. And they’re a very passionate fanbase as well. At the same time, being an Olympic athlete would be really cool.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing able to share that passion for the game, whether it’s football or another Olympic sport, you know it’s going to be a really cool opportunity for whoever plays in it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other NFL players to have shown interest in competing at LA28<\/a> include Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins and Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings.<\/p>\n

Featuring six men\u2019s and six women\u2019s teams, each composed of 10 players, flag football will be contested in a five-on-five format at LA28.<\/p>\n
