Happy Thursday,<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you take an evening stroll through Southlake Town Square this weekend, you\u2019ll find streets filled with dozens of vendors and live entertainment. That\u2019s because the city is celebrating its 69th birthday with a community festival.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Southlake area was settled by pioneers in the 1840s, but was not designated as Southlake until 1956. The area retained its rural qualities until the completion of DFW International Airport in 1974. Find out more about the birthday celebration below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also, Gallery Night blows open doors in Fort Worth and Arlington this Saturday. You can find out which art venues I plan on checking out here<\/strong><\/a>. Let me know which galleries and museums you\u2019re going to visit. If you see me out and about, be sure to say hello!<\/p>\n

Sing \u2018Happy Birthday\u2019 to the city of Southlake<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Several of the city\u2019s nonprofits, community groups and organizations will offer artistic activities and games for families to enjoy.<\/p>\n

When: <\/strong>2-6 p.m. Sept. 5; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 6; 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 7 <\/p>\n

Stop in, go buy at art galleries, museums during Gallery Night<\/a><\/strong>
Organized by the Fort Worth Art Dealers Association, Gallery Night arrives every fall and spring to support local artists and encourage longtime art lovers and newcomers to explore spaces across the region in a relaxed environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n
