{"id":200175,"date":"2025-09-04T18:10:20","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T18:10:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/200175\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T18:10:20","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T18:10:20","slug":"frozen-to-debut-new-era-at-phoenix-theatre-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/200175\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Frozen\u2019 to debut new era at Phoenix Theatre Company"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Special to Independent Newsmedia<\/p>\n<p>The Broadway blockbuster Disney\u2019s \u201cFrozen\u201d will usher in a new era at the Phoenix Theatre Company\u2019s Dr. Stacie J. and Richard J Stephenson Theatre.<\/p>\n<p>The 500-seat Stephenson Theatre will take center stage in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yourvalley.net\/paradise-valley-independent\/stories\/meet-the-man-behind-phoenix-theatre-companys-music,611829\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the theater\u2019s 106th season<\/a>. Originally founded as the Phoenix Players in 1920, the organization was rechristened as The Phoenix Theatre Company in 1993. The company counts, among others, Steven Spielberg, who screened his first film, \u201cFirelight,\u201d at the theater in 1964, as an alumnus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrozen\u201d opens its run Wednesday, Sept. 24.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe debut of this theater marks a transformative moment for our city\u2019s cultural landscape,\u201d Phoenix Theatre Producing Artistic Director Michael Barnard shared in a press release. \u201cIt\u2019s only fitting that we celebrate with \u2018Frozen,\u2019 a production that unites spectacle, music, and story on the grandest scale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Featuring songs from the Oscar-winning film, \u201cFrozen\u201d tells the story of Anna\u2019s quest to save her sister Elsa after her magical powers plunge the kingdom of Arendelle into an endless winter. Along the way, she encounters Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf, proving that courage, resilience, and love can thaw even the coldest winter, the theater states.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Barnard with choreography by Sam Hay and music direction by Kevin Robert White, the musical includes classic songs from the original movie plus 12 new additions by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.<\/p>\n<p>The cast for \u201cFrozen\u201d includes Matravius Avent, Shani Barrett, Rose Cali, Alyssa Chiarello, Brandon S. Chu, Lucas Coatney-Murietta, Kambria Cook, Chelsea Cree Groen, Joseph Paul Cavazos, Dani Cleveland, Caelan Creaser, Trisha Ditsworth, Cameron Edris, Shiloh Foreman, Adam James King, Kali Kappes, Molly Lajoie, Eddie Maldonado, Brandt Norris, Alexandro Partida, Lauran Stanis, Audra South, Jacody Weathers, and D.
