{"id":200198,"date":"2025-09-04T18:22:17","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T18:22:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/200198\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T18:22:17","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T18:22:17","slug":"ny-prisoner-who-strangled-woman-charged-with-killing-cellmate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/200198\/","title":{"rendered":"NY prisoner who strangled woman charged with killing cellmate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A New York man serving time for fatally strangling a 32-year-old mother is now charged with killing his prison cellmate.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Farley, 42, of Canastota, was indicted Wednesday on <a href=\"https:\/\/iapps.courts.state.ny.us\/webcrim_attorney\/Detail?which=charge&amp;docketNumber=2jCwtPXuf\/LWBT00abb5eBmaVOWtM4f_PLUS_MMkgFToQpfg=&amp;countyId=nexZy_PLUS_y9rmBsG3N4UyHImw==&amp;docketId=QVrZSJVCotnXCsK1ZNrstQ==&amp;docketDseq=T\/O1YN_PLUS_BG65HkOeqEnpAkw==&amp;defendantName=FARLEY,+KEVIN&amp;court=Seneca+County+Court+(M-B)&amp;courtType=U&amp;recordType=U&amp;recordNum=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">two counts of first-degree murder<\/a> and one count of criminal possession of a weapon, court records show.<\/p>\n<p>Farley is accused of strangling 40-year-old Adam Lafferty to death on Dec. 23, 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fltimes.com\/news\/ex-cellmate-indicted-in-laffertys-death\/article_f3d931f5-7c50-41e6-81e7-7d5ff07ccfaa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">in the cell the two men shared at Five Points Correctional Facility<\/a> in Romulus, Seneca County, according to the Finger Lakes Times.<\/p>\n<p>Lafferty, who was serving two to seven years for burglary, was found unconscious in his bed with severe head bruises and ligature marks on his neck, the paper reported.<\/p>\n<p>Farley is currently serving a 24-to-life sentence for the killing of Tiffany Meeks 10 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Meeks, a mother of two and longtime acquaintance of Farley, was strangled to death with a computer cord on the night of Aug. 3, 2015. Prosecutors say he entered his former neighbor\u2019s home in Oneida in an attempt to rape her.<\/p>\n<p>After killing Meeks, Farley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.syracuse.com\/crime\/2015\/09\/police_oneida_woman_grew_up_next_to_man_who_murdered_her.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">stole her debit card and car<\/a> and drove from Madison County to Onondaga County, syracuse.com reported.
