13-year-old accused of shooting, killing man during attempted carjacking in north-side Walmart parking lot<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\nThe teen cried after hearing the judge read a statement from Pazir\u2019s family. After pleading guilty to murder, he will now spend 40 years in prison.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis act of violence that took our family\u2019s life since April 6, 2024,” The plaintiff’s attorney said in court as she read the family’s impact statement.<\/p>\n
The day Pazir was gunned down in the northeast-side Walmart parking lot was the day his family\u2019s pain began.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, their voices were heard in court as they found justice.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery day we wake up to the reality he will not walk through our door again. Every family gathering has an empty chair, my mother and sister witnessed this, and that trauma will be with them for the rest of their lives,” the statement went on to say.<\/p>\n
The 14-year-old is now pleading guilty to his murder.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m sorry for what I\u2019ve done, and I believe I can achieve other goals, and I will get to the point where I am sorry,” the teen said to the judge.<\/p>\n
The teen will serve 40 years in prison. Pazir\u2019s family will live with a lifetime of pain.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have faith in God and believe he will provide justice,\u201d his family said.<\/p>\n
