His latest venture, Caf\u00e9 Alessie, which is named after his daughter, offers a welcoming space where specialty coffee pairs perfectly with handcrafted desserts.\u00a0<\/p>\n Vega Caffe<\/a>\u00a0has been serving San Diego for over 23 years with a menu that blends Mexican-American deli classics and taco shop staples. Run by Martha and Omar Vega, their East Village location continues to bring comfort food and vibrant energy to the neighborhood.<\/p>\n At the heart of East Village\u2019s social scene,\u00a0Bottle Rocket<\/a>\u00a0offers a laid-back bar experience with great drinks, comfort food, and a sense of community.\u00a0<\/p>\n Founded by Elias Delgado in 2019, its iconic Tony Gwynn mural reminds visitors that this is a place where locals gather, connect, and celebrate San Diego pride.<\/p>\n From food to fashion,\u00a0Tribal Streetwear<\/a>\u00a0adds cultural flair to East Village. Launched in 1989 by Bobby Ruiz and his brother Joe, the brand blends Southern California\u2019s urban roots with global street style, celebrating lowrider, tattoo, and hip-hop culture through bold, iconic designs.<\/p>\n Once Hispanic Heritage Month begins Sept. 15, there\u2019s no better time to honor the Latin-owned businesses that make East Village a dynamic and diverse destination year-round.<\/p>\n East Village Oktoberfest\u00a0<\/strong>returns for ninth year\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Dust off your lederhosen and grab a stein because\u00a0East Village Oktoberfest<\/a>, hosted by\u00a0Quartyard<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0East Village Association<\/a>, is returning to bring a lively blend of traditional German celebration and San Diego culture to the heart of downtown. <\/p>\n Taking place from 3 to 8 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Quartyard, the event will feature a curated selection of craft beers, live entertainment, festive games, and a mix of German and Mexican food offerings.<\/p>\n Classic Oktoberfest elements like communal beer hall seating, soft pretzels with mustard, and bratwurst will be served alongside tacos and other favorites from Quartyard\u2019s in-house kitchen, El Comal.\u00a0<\/p>\n The taps will be flowing with a variety of local lagers, ales, ciders, and seasonal brews, while the main stage hosts a mix of traditional Polka and high-energy tribute bands to keep the crowd moving.\u00a0<\/p>\n Attendees can also enjoy interactive games, fun competitions, and a lively outdoor atmosphere.
