The sun was setting, and it dotted the sky with streaks of pink. Katie Honan\/THE CITY Credit: Katie Honan\/THE CITY<\/p>\n<p>You shared some of your favorite moments with me, too, like getting a new puppy named Will, and watching the Coney Island fireworks, or riding the East River ferry with a beer on a late August evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I love New York City in every season, but there is something magical about summer. We\u2019ve had a near perfect stretch of weather the last few weeks, letting us bottle it up to fuel us for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n<p>We still have one weekend left of open beaches and pools before they\u2019re done for the year, and a LOT of things to do to soak up the final weeks of summer. Here are some:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>See a Senegalese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycgovparks.org\/events\/2025\/09\/05\/duo-sencirk-by-cirque-sencirk-poetic-consultations\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">acrobatic circus troupe<\/a> at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem for free, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Learn to cast a line with other women at this free <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycgovparks.org\/events\/2025\/09\/06\/femme-fishing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Femme Fishing<\/a> event at Randall\u2019s Island Park, Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Get a taste of an old-fashioned, country festival at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycgovparks.org\/events\/2025\/09\/07\/west-side-county-fair\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">West Side County Fair<\/a>, hosted by the Riverside Park Conservancy at Pier 1 on Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All good things come to an end, and this will be the last edition of Summer &amp; THE CITY for 2025.
