Opening day is on Sept. 26.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">The controversial gun ban remains in effect, and there are some <a href=\"https:\/\/bigtex.com\/about-us\/faq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new security measures<\/a> being implemented this year.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Organizers want fair goers to be aware of some security enhancements that are new this year.<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/State-Fair-of-Texas-8.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/>  State Fair of Texas 2025 security <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/9P-H2_STATE-FAIR-SHOOTING-SECURITY-_00.00.05.26.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/>  <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">What&#8217;s new:<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Several new standards have been set for bags and containers that will be allowed in the fairgrounds, as well as which will be checked and where.<\/p>\n<ul original-article-post=\"\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\" data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Clear bags that are 9 x 10 x 12 inches or smaller are allowed.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Small clutches are allowed, and do not have to be clear.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Soft-shell coolers are still allowed, but the fair is no longer allowing loose ice, for the sake of speeding up security checks.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Medical bags and parenting childcare bags are allowed regardless of size or material, but will be searched at all entries.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">All bags are subject to search.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> \u2018See something, say something\u2019 <\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Also new this year is &#8220;see something say something&#8221; signage that will be posted throughout the fair grounds.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Guests will be able to use a QR code to speak directory to police and fire officials at the State Fair Command. Organizers says it&#8217;s quicker than calling 911.<\/p>\n<p> Time and age restrictions <\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Folks will no longer be able to enter the fair and walk around before the official 10 a.m. open time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">And as was the case last year, visitors 17 and younger must have an adult chaperone 21 years or older after 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p> State Fair of Texas gun ban <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">The backstory:<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Then there&#8217;s the gun ban, which was implemented last year. It remains in effect despite pushback from the Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">The Texas Supreme Court ultimately allowed the State Fair of Texas, which is a private non-profit organization, to keep the ban in place.
